How I Work

I work one-on-one with clients in my office and sometimes in the gym. I also teach Awareness Through Movement® classes focused on everyday activities like walking, balancing, and breathing.

Some classes target specific challenges such as back pain, head injuries, or balance, while others simply help you move through life with more comfort, coordination, and confidence.

Whatever your goals — feeling younger, moving easier, or getting back to your favorite sport — we’ll find the approach that works for you.

My Journey

After many years as an athlete, I developed plantar fasciitis. I did all the usual things: medical visits, stretching, rest — but nothing addressed why it happened.

Then I discovered the Feldenkrais Method®. It felt like a miracle to identify the movement patterns that were causing my pain. Once I changed those patterns, not only did my foot pain disappear — I was able to return to triathlons and running without fear or frustration.

That experience changed everything. Feldenkrais helped me stay active, healthy, and fit — without pain — and I’ve been helping others do the same ever since.

What is The Feldenkrais Method®?

We start by noticing how you move — the patterns your body prefers.
Sometimes those patterns help you, but when they’re used too much, they can also create pain, stiffness, or hold you back from your full potential.

In Awareness Through Movement® (group classes) and Functional Integration® (one-on-one sessions), I help you find new, easier ways to move by sensing, feeling, and exploring what’s possible.

The fancy word for this is neuroplasticity — your brain’s ability to rewire itself.
When you practice this kind of learning, your nervous system finds more options and more resilience. Pain and tension can ease, stress goes down, and you start to feel more capable in your own body.

Over time, you get better at recognizing what you need and responding in the moment — so you can move, rest, and live with more dignity and ease.

 FAQs

Curious How It Works?

If you’re new to the Feldenkrais Method®, you’re not alone.
Most people find their way here after trying other things — stretching routines, workouts, maybe even physical therapy — and still wondering, “Why does my body keep hurting?”

Before you book your first session, here are some of the most common questions I hear from clients.
Let’s take the mystery out of how Feldenkrais can help you move better, feel better, and get back to living fully.

What is the Feldenkrais Method®?

It’s a way of teaching your body and brain to move more efficiently.
Instead of forcing your muscles to work harder, we explore how you can move — then discover easier, smarter ways to do it. That shift often reduces pain, improves coordination, and helps you feel more like yourself again.

What’s the difference between Awareness Through Movement® and Functional Integration®?

Awareness Through Movement® (ATM) lessons are done in a group. I guide you through gentle movements using verbal cues — no mirrors, no “perfect form,” just paying attention and exploring.

Functional Integration® (FI) is one-on-one, hands-on work. I use touch and movement to help your body sense new options. It’s gentle, relaxing, and often surprisingly effective.

Can I combine the Feldenkrais Method® with other forms of exercise or therapy?

Awareness Through Movement® (ATM) lessons are done in a group. I guide you through gentle movements using verbal cues — no mirrors, no “perfect form,” just paying attention and exploring.

Who can benefit from Feldenkrais?

Anyone who wants to move better — whether you’re recovering from an injury, managing chronic pain, or training for your next race.
I work with people who want to stay active and capable, from busy parents to weekend athletes to retirees who still love to move.

Do I need to be flexible or fit already?

Not at all. You just need curiosity and a willingness to slow down.
The lessons meet you where you are — no matter your age, experience, or fitness level.

What will I feel during a session?

Most people feel relaxed and curious — sometimes surprised at how small movements can make such a big difference.
Afterward, you may notice standing taller, breathing easier, or simply feeling lighter in your body.

What should I wear to a Feldenkrais Session?

Clothes you can easily move in and feel comfortable wearing is recommended.

How many sessions will I need?

Everyone’s different. Some people notice changes right away; others see steady progress over several sessions.
I’ll help you set realistic goals and find a rhythm that works for your lifestyle.

Why should I care about how I move?

Because how you move is how you live.
Your movement habits shape everything — how you sit, stand, think, and age.
When you move better, you feel better. And that’s what being truly healthy and fit is all about.

Ready to Feel the Difference?

You don’t have to live with stiffness, pain, or frustration about how your body moves.
Small changes in awareness can create big changes in how you feel — at any age.

If you’re ready to discover what’s possible, I’d love to help.
